We just built our new house and were starting to move in. My parents were over helping, and my dad and I were trying to think of solutions to the bathroom door hitting our freestanding tub. He said this heavy-duty tape he recently bought called Alien Tape would do the trick. Once he said the name of it I kind of blew it off because, honestly, who would trust something with the word ‘alien’ in it. Next time they came over they brought the tape, and let me tell you, wow. GAME CHANGED.

Why I LOVE this tape: it’s DOUBLE-SIDED, it’s THICK, it’s CLEAR, and it STRETCHES.

Alien Tape is a must-have household item! Sticks to glass, wood, plastic, and more without ruining surfaces. Waterproof, durable, and budget-friendly!

RUGS

Simply cut off a small piece of the tape and place under the corner of your rugs so it adheres to the floor. This will prevent the rug from curling at the corners and keep rugs in place. It is safe for wood floors too, which is awesome!

BATHROOMS

Our bathtub solution! I used a small piece of tape and placed it on the part of the tub that the door kept hitting to prevent scratching and denting. The tape is clear so it blends in with the tub fairly well.

CUPBOARDS

Be careful using this tape on painted surfaces as it will remove the paint. I put it on our wall to cushion the cupboard door when hitting the wall. It will remove the paint when I take it off, but I figured I won’t be taking it off unless we repaint in which case it won’t matter. Because it’s clear you can’t see it on the wall, which I love!

I placed tape on the fridge to prevent the cupboard door from getting dinged when opened. As you can see, you can’t even see it 🙂
I also placed tape above the walkway to prevent the other cupboard door and the wall from getting dinged. Hardly visible!

HANGING PICTURES AND DECOR

Do this with caution because as I mentioned, it will take the paint off the wall if you need to move it or you don’t want it on. I hung pictures and wall décor with the tape and it holds them up perfectly! This was up my ally because I didn’t need to find a hammer and nails to hang these and could do it all myself.

KITCHEN COUNTERS

Nothing is more annoying to me than my kids swiveling in their barstools hitting the counter. We have super heavy duty chairs and I’m concerned they will actually damage the counter if hit too hard. I stretched this tape and wrapped it around the posts of the chairs where it’s hitting the counter and viola!

COUCH CUSHIONS

We have a leather couch and with all the climbing our kids do I couldn’t get the cushions to stay on the couch for the life of me. I placed a piece of the tape on the underside of the cushion, sticking it to the couch, and the cushions haven’t come off for at least 2 months.

There are so many others ways this tape can be used! The best part is, you only need a small piece for most things so the tape lasts FOREVER. Have you used this tape for other purposes? Comment below and give us some more ideas!
